Daily Design: Day 314

Daily Design is a series of game concepts devised daily through all of 2016. These are just basic concepts, designed based on randomly generated words. Today, they are;

Crushing, Wine and Effort.

As such, the game I’ve designed today is…

Blood and Wine

Blood and Wine is a Witcher 3 expansion game about making wine while violently stopping the opposition from doing the same.

It’s a 2D game, where each player is standing atop a barrel of grapes. Players have to jump as much as possible to crush the grapes into sweet, sweet wine (a process I imagine only requires grapes and feet). Players jump with a single button, but pressing it with good timing will allow them to chain more powerful jumps together which will make the wine faster.

However, players can also opt to jump across to other players’ barrels and jump on them to slow them down. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be super useful, but players can play in teams – having some on “defense” and some on “offense” will allow teams to build their own wonderful foot-wine while stopping the opposition from doing the same. It’s basically drunken Mario meets that goddamn Suramar quest.
