Daily Design: Day 287
Daily Design is a series of game concepts devised daily through all of 2016. These are just basic concepts, designed based on randomly generated words. Today, they are;
Startle, Destination and Expedition.
As such, the game I’ve designed today is…
Spook Herder is a stealth game about sneaking around, scaring sheep and otherwise just being a nuisance.
The protagonist has been tasked with taking care of a massive flock of sheep who manage to escape immediately, probably because they thought it was a good way to build dramatic tension.
So, the protagonist then has to track them all down. Unfortunately for them they have no shepherding experience, but they are an international spy, for some reason. So the game is about using those skills to herd sheep.
It’s a grid-based, turn-based isometric stealth game in which making your presence known will scare sheep a certain number of tiles in the direction opposite your character. The idea is to manipulate the sheep on each level to the exit, while avoiding wolves with both your character and your sheep.
That’s it! Dead simple, but it’s the last day of the Epic Game Jam, so cut me some slack! I’ll be back tomorrow with another quick game concept.
