Daily Design: Day 158
Daily Design is a series of game concepts devised daily through all of 2016. These are just basic concepts, designed based on three randomly generated words. Today, they are;
Chemistry, Hypothesis and Apathy.
As such, the game I’ve designed today is…
Noble Solutions is a game about combining chemicals and testing their effects on the unwitting.
At the start of the game, players only have access to two chemicals (all of which are given fictional names). These can be combined, then tested on a mouse. Discovering new reactions unlocks more chemicals and thus more combinations and so on. New test subjects can also be unlocked by discovering a certain number of reactions.
The idea is to play around with the different chemicals and see what (hopefully hilarious or interesting) effects they can have. Mechanically it’s dead simple, with players simply clicking on different options to observe what happens.
For the initiated, it’s very similar to Doodle God, only with a much larger focus on visuals.
That’s it! Another quick one today, and they’ll probably stay quite short for the next several days due to life circumstance. Thanks for reading! I’ll be back tomorrow with another quick game concept.
