Daily Design: Day 36
Daily Design is a series of game concepts devised daily through all of 2016. These are just basic concepts, designed based on three randomly generated words. Today, they are;
Corpse, Hang and Lab.
As such, the game I’ve designed today is…
In the Loop
In the Loop is a short puzzle game in which you play as one of the scientists responsible for unleashing the zombie virus on the world. Unfortunately, the other person responsible has decided to commit suicide by hanging, and now their zombified corpse is the only thing between you and freedom.
In essence, this is an Escape the Room type of game. It’s small and simple, but I think the setting provides loads of interesting opportunities for puzzles, as well as plenty of atmosphere, tension and (environmental) storytelling.
Your obvious problem is the zombie hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the room. While it doesn’t necessarily pose an immediate threat, it’s a constant lingering worry, and won’t always remain so passive.
However, the lab has also sealed itself as a result of the outbreak, trapping you in. Can you find a way out before your coworker gets free (and probably eats you)?
That’s it! I’ll be back again tomorrow with another quick game concept. Thanks for reading!
