Daily Design: Day 21
Daily Design is a series of game concepts devised daily through all of 2016. These are just basic concepts, designed based on three randomly generated words. Today, they are;
Cyanide, Zombie and Examiner.
As such, the game I’ve designed today is…
In Morticide, players take the role of a private detective investigating a string of murders – most recently, their own.
As an “investigative adventure” game, Morticide takes most of it’s inspiration not from Murdered: Soul Suspect, but Shadow of Memories, a sadly overlooked classic.
As such, it shares many themes – mainly, you spend the bulk of the game not only solving your initial murder, but preventing future murders (of yourself and others).
Mechanically, it’s fairly simple – you walk around in third person and explore the town, gathering certain items and making dialogue choices that affect the plot and you’re ending.
Basically, I just want to play Shadow of Memories again, because that game was amazing.
That’s it! Very busy day, so I’ve had to keep short. Stay tuned for more tomorrow.
