Quick Update

Hey everyone,

Just writing a quick update to show that my latest game is still happening, though it isn’t as progressing as quickly as I’d hoped. Keep in mind all the images here are from a very early build of the game and won’t reflect the quality of the released version.

I’ve got the story more or less sorted, but I’m worried it’ll be a little bit too ambitious. I’ve already cut back on a lot of the stuff I wanted to do because I thought it would take too much time, though, so hopefully I’ve hit a sweet spot. It’s the kind of story I really like – much less about world-wide terror and more about personal struggles.

It definitely has a long, long way to go, of course. The combat system is in place (or at least, the default RPG Maker combat system is), but I’ve done very little in the way of customising or personalising it in any way, which I’ll hopefully have time to do. This is something that I hope to get done by the end of the month, since I could submit to a competition if I do – but either way, I plan to work on it afterwards.

I’ve got a working build I could upload, but it’s not really very fun and doesn’t have any significant content, so I’ll hold off for now. If you’re really keen, feel free to get in touch and ask for a Dropbox link.

Cheers!

New game!

Hey everyone,

It’s been over a month since my last update, but I’m back and working on a new game (hooray)!

Image

It’s an RPG being developed in RPG Maker VX Ace (fittingly). It’s a smallish scale project and RPG Maker enables me to develop extremely quickly, so it should be fairly substantial despite it being made quite quickly. I’m developing it for a competition, so it’s due at the end of the month – I’ll be keeping the blog up to date with info on it.

Image

It’s still very much early days (actual development began a few hours ago), but these screenshots should give a rough idea of what the finished game will look like. In future posts, I’ll discuss some features in more depth, as well as post development updates and more screenshots.

Stay tuned and feel free to get in touch with me if you’re interested in playtesting or have any questions. Cheers!
